The picking etude that you will learn in this lesson was one that I learned may years ago.

I was about fourteen years old at the time and had been playing guitar for about a year. My guitar teacher at the time taught me this etude, which I refer to as the “Yngwie Etude” to help me develop my picking abilities.

At that time it was the most difficult thing I’d ever learned to play on my guitar and it took me weeks to get it down. But, once I worked it up to 120bpm on my metronome, that was when I first felt that I could really play something fast on my guitar! It was awesome!

If you want to develop your guitar picking speed, this particular etude is a great way to do it. Try it for yourself!
